BROOKLYN, NY – Brooklyn candidate Jason Salmon strengthens his broad coalition of support by earning three new endorsements for his State Senate race from Equality New York, Citizen Action of New York, and the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC.
“We proudly support Jason A Salmon for NY State Senate in District 25,” said Equality New York when they announced their support for Jason on Twitter.
“Jason is committed to fighting for progressive issues and bringing the kind of transformational change that will empower New York’s working families and marginalized communities,” said Christina Sparrock, a member of Citizen Action’s State Board. “From strengthening tenant rights to fighting for racial and economic justice, Jason is the strong voice we need in Albany.”
”The Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC is excited to endorse Jason Salmon for state Senate District 25. As a community leader who is dedicated to advancing racial, social, and economic justice for all communities, including Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) communities we are excited to support his campaign. Jason’s previous experience in government and as an activist who has built a grassroots coalition makes him exemplary. We look forward to working with now and when he is elected Senator to advance a bold vision for our most vulnerable queer and trans siblings,” said Brian Romero, President of Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC.
Equality New York, Citizen Action, and the Stonewall Democratic Club represent many of the vulnerable populations in Brooklyn that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Receiving their support amplifies Jason’s ability to support these communities during the pandemic.
“These are challenging times for everyone, but as we all try to navigate our new reality with COVID, we must remember to support those who are hardest hit by this pandemic including our elders, low-income families, incarcerated individuals, and communities of color. With the support of a progressive organization like Citizen Action, I know we can continue to deliver the protections and resources our community deserves. And with the support of a groundbreaking group like Equality New York, I know we can continue the fight to repeal the Walking While Trans statue and amplify the social and political voices of the LGBTQ+ community,” said Jason Salmon.
